A Wix alternative where your code, data and hosting are yours

Wix is an easy, hosted editor, and your site lives inside it. If you want a Wix alternative you can take with you, Blaubok builds a real site from a chat, with bookings and payments built in, on GitHub, Supabase and Vercel accounts in your name.

The short answer

Blaubok or Wix?

Wix is one of the easiest ways to get a business online. You pick a template or let its AI make a first version, drag things into place, and Wix handles hosting, security and updates. Its own apps cover bookings, online stores and payments, and there is a large app market for the rest. The trade-off is that everything stays inside Wix. You can’t export the site’s code, and moving away means rebuilding. Blaubok takes the other side of that trade. You describe your business in chat, and it builds a Next.js site with the CRM, bookings, WhatsApp alerts and payments wired in. The code goes to your GitHub, the data to your Supabase and the site to your Vercel, so a developer can work on it and nothing is locked in. You give up the drag-and-drop editor, and you have three accounts to connect. If you want to design visually and never think about hosting, Wix is the simpler choice. If ownership and a built-in back office matter more, choose Blaubok.

Who it’s for

How each one charges

We describe how each tool charges rather than list prices, because prices change often.

How Wix charges

Wix has a free plan that shows Wix branding and uses a Wix web address. Premium plans, billed monthly or yearly, let you connect your own domain, remove the branding and unlock business features such as online payments, with higher tiers for selling online. Hosting is included in every plan. Some apps in the Wix App Market charge their own fees, and payment providers take their own transaction fees. Prices vary by country, so check Wix’s pricing page for yours.

How Blaubok charges

There is no required subscription. New accounts get free welcome credits, no card needed. After that, buy credit packs as you go, and the credits never expire, or take an optional monthly plan. AI chat uses credits per message, and each built-in feature is charged once per project, never on rebuilds. GitHub, Supabase and Vercel bill you directly, and all three have free tiers. If your plan and credits run out, there is a 14-day grace period, then the engine is committed into your repo so the site keeps building on its own.

How to move from Wix to Blaubok

  1. Save your content

Copy your page text and download your images. A Wix site can’t be exported as code, so you are rebuilding, not migrating, and your words and photos are the part worth keeping.

  2. Export your contacts

Export your contact list from Wix so you keep your customer details. Check what else your Wix apps let you download, such as product lists.

  3. Describe your business in chat

Sign up, connect GitHub, Supabase and Vercel, and paste your content into the chat. It turns it into a brief and wires in bookings, payments or the CRM as needed.

  4. Build and check the preview

Click Build. About five minutes later the site is live on your Vercel address. Make changes by chat; they wait on a preview until you click Publish.

  5. Move your domain last

Keep your Wix plan running until the new site is ready, then point your domain at Vercel. That way nothing goes offline in between.

FAQ

Wix vs Blaubok: common questions

Is Blaubok a good Wix alternative?

It is if you want to own your site. Wix keeps the site, its code and its data inside Wix. Blaubok puts the code in your GitHub, the data in your Supabase and the hosting on your Vercel, and builds in a CRM, bookings, WhatsApp alerts and payments. If you prefer designing with drag and drop and want nothing to set up, Wix is easier.

Can I move my Wix site to Blaubok?

Not directly, because a Wix site’s code can’t be exported. You keep your content instead: copy your text, download your images and export your contacts, then describe the business in Blaubok’s chat and paste the content in. The new site is built from that in about five minutes.

Where is Wix better than Blaubok?

Wix is better if you want to design visually. It has a drag-and-drop editor, lots of templates and a big app market, and hosting, security and updates are handled inside one account. Blaubok has no visual editor and asks you to connect GitHub, Supabase and Vercel, which takes a few clicks but is one more thing to understand.

Do I need technical skills to use Blaubok instead of Wix?

No. You describe your business in plain English and the chat writes the brief. Connecting GitHub, Supabase and Vercel is guided step by step in the Connections tab, and all three have free tiers. If you ever want a developer to change something, they can open the code in your GitHub.

What does each one cost to run?

Wix is a plan billed monthly or yearly, with hosting included and some apps charged separately. Blaubok has no required subscription: free welcome credits, then credit packs that never expire, or an optional monthly plan. Each built-in feature is charged once per project. Your GitHub, Supabase and Vercel accounts bill you directly, and all three have free tiers.

What happens to my Blaubok site if I stop paying?

It stays up, because it runs on your own Vercel. If your plan and credits run out, there is a 14-day grace period, then the engine is committed into your repo so the site keeps building on its own. What stops is AI edits, new features and engine updates. Come back any time and they pick up where you left off.
